Case Study: UBS Arena – IMC/Teddy Hits the Ice!
Making a trip to an arena is certainly a memorable experience. The sights, sounds & thrills is what people live for. After 2 years of construction, spectators in New York, New Jersey & Connecticut have a new place to visit for entertainment: UBS Arena. With that said, IMC/Teddy stainless steel food service equipment has also made itself at home in this new complex.
Located in Elmont, NY, UBS Arena will serve as the permanent home of the New York Islanders hockey team starting on November 20th, 2021 where they will take on the Calgary Flames. The state-of-the-art arena has a jam packed capacity of 18,500 & will host around 150 major events annually. The arena is built next to the world famous Belmont Park race track – which hosts the Belmont Stakes, the third leg of the Triple Crown.
As with any new building, stainless steel food service equipment was certainly in order. IMC/Teddy was ready & willing to provide all of the necessary items to get the arena up & running.
So, how did our equipment end up in this premier building? Here are the exciting details.
Breaking Ground
IMC/Teddy was given the opportunity to quote the project back in April 2020. A well known dealer was awarded the job & reached out to IMC to provide the majority of stainless steel food service equipment for the arena. After thorough negotiations & discussion, this dealer decided to put their trust in us & awarded IMC/Teddy the project. As a plus, IMC is local to the arena, so providing & shipping the equipment would be a simple process.
The total project called for IMC to manufacture over 700 items. Many of these items include floor troughs, hand sinks, countertops, worktables, compartment sinks, corner guards, etc. For your viewing, a partial list of equipment can be found later in this article.
From receipt of order to the final delivery day, IMC was there every step of the way. IMC even made various trips to the arena to make sure installation was running smoothly. This is part of our unending philosophy to work closely with our amazing customers to make the project a complete success.
Although there was a tight schedule, IMC was able to provide all the equipment on time. It took a lot of teamwork & coordination, but all of the hard work paid off when you look at all the gorgeous equipment installed.
