The Ultimate Guide to IMC Wall Cabinets

Storage & organization are two of the most important aspects of any commercial kitchen operation. But, when floor space is tight, it’s time to start utilizing your overhead area. Enter IMC wall cabinets.

IMC cabinets help you make the most out of your kitchen by adding more storage space without disrupting your work areas. IMC wall cabinets are specifically designed to keep your ingredients, tools, or cleaning supplies out of the way when they are not in use.

As with most stainless steel equipment, variations do exist. For IMC stainless steel wall cabinets, the differences exist in the door configuration & sizing. Let’s take a deeper look below.

Door Configurations

There are three main types of door configurations for IMC wall cabinets. Remember that whichever configuration you choose, all IMC wall cabinets are fitted with (2) stainless steel shelves that are adjustable & removable without the use of tools. All cabinets feature a standard sloped top, for easy cleaning. Extra shelves or a flat top are also available.

Open Front – The first type doesn’t have any doors at all! Simply put, the purpose of an open front design is to keep your supplies within plain sight. An open configuration enables immediate access to your supplies. You don’t have to worry about opening or sliding doors constantly.

Hinged Doors – Hinged doors are the classic favorite for IMC wall cabinets. They allow you to keep contents concealed, secure & orderly. Hinged doors can also be equipped with a lock for maximum security. You may also add glass to the hinged doors for easy viewing of contents. Depending on the length of your wall cabinet, the number of hinged doors will differ. Here’s a quick sizing guide:

  • 24″L – 1 door only
  • 30″ – 48″L – 2 doors
  • 60″ – 72″L – 3 doors
  • 84″ – 96″L – 4 doors

Sliding Doors – Sliding doors are designed to hide your equipment & supplies without taking up extra workspace. Sliding doors do not block any outside space, thanks to the sideways sliding design. To sum up, use sliding door wall cabinets in areas where space is extremely tight & cramped.

What About a Corner Wall Cabinet?

If wall space is really limited, an IMC corner wall cabinet will be your best bet. Corner wall cabinets are designed to add style & functionality. They provide efficient storage space & fully utilize your wall surfaces & corners. IMC manufactures three types of corner wall cabinets: OC-CW (open front), OC-CWS (solid door) & OC-CWG (glass door).

What If You Need a Security Package?

For correctional facilities, stainless steel equipment must have durable construction, no exposed parts that can be broken off & no removable parts that can be stolen. The OC-SEC is the ultimate wall cabinet for correctional facilities. The OC-SEC provides maximum security of knives and other accessories in an easily accessible lockable location. Special see-thru doors permits instant inspection of cabinet contents, to make sure nothing is missing.
