Understanding IMC Utility Shelves

Mop sinks are a crucial part of any janitorial operation. Without them, there would be no place to fill or empty mop buckets, clean mops/supplies & acquire water for other tasks. Utility shelves are the perfect companion to go with mop sinks to create a complete cleaning system. How so?

In this article, we’ll breakdown IMC’s utility shelf offerings & offer you up some advantages of installing them in your facility. Let’s start.

Model #USH – IMC’s Flagship Utility Shelf

First up is IMC’s primary utility shelf, Model #USH. It is constructed from 18-gauge type 300 series stainless steel with an integrated 2″ straight backsplash that protects the wall. USH is broken down into 2 standard sizes 8″W x 24″L (USH24) or 8″W x 36″L (USH36). Custom sizes are also available to fit your application needs.

USH has all the necessary tools that any janitor will need. Most importantly, the unit is designed to keep mops & brooms away from walls, protecting them from damage. Two rubber tension grip holders are in place to snugly & securely accommodate handles. Three stainless steel hooks are also attached to the unit to store your rags or other linens. If you require the product to be longer than 36″, extra mop holders & hooks are available.

The unit is wall mounted & simply bolts to the wall through the lip on the support flanges. Take a look below at the product:

Model #USHC – IMC’s Newest Utility Shelf

Launched in early 2019 at The NAFEM Show, Model #USHC is IMC’s unique corner utility shelf. The unit is also constructed from 18-gauge type 300 series stainless steel. The unit features a 45° turndown on all sides for stability & radius front edges. Overall size is 16″ x 16″ x 8″ & the unit is equipped with 3 mop holders & 2 hooks for rags/linens.

Perhaps the most striking feature of this product is its sharp corner design. Corner products are meant to serve as a space saver & this utility shelf will certainly fit snug in any corner. USHC was also launched alongside Model #FS-C, IMC’s corner mop sink. Combining a corner mop sink with a corner utility shelf will grant you a complete cleaning system, all while saving valuable space in your work area. Here’s a peek at the item:

Ok, but What Are the Real Advantages?

Simply put, both utility shelves optimize organization for your janitor’s work area. No one wants to go hunting around for valuable washing tools & accessories. IMC utility shelves complement your mop sink by adding an extra layer of storage for your soaps, detergents, gloves, etc. all while holding your mops & brooms. Keeping your janitorial items organized & tidy is crucial to completing everyday washing tasks.

IMC utility shelves are a quintessential addition for any commercial facility. If you regularly mop hard floors, a utility shelf will be a life saver. Lastly, the stainless steel construction is built to last & easily withstands high volume use. For a closer look at the IMC’s other wall shelving offerings, click here.
