The Ultimate Guide to IMC Cold Food Counters

We’ve spoken before about essential cafeteria & buffet line equipment & their role in food service operations today. One common set of serving line equipment is cold food counters.

IMC cold food counters are convenient & easy to use. They allow an addition for an attractive dessert, salad or cold food self-service display to the serving line while maintaining them fresh. No one wants to indulge in a warm dessert or salad! This is why cold food counters are an absolute necessity.

In this article, we’ll break down IMC’s 4 main offerings in the cold food counter category. Let’s start.

Model #CFC – The Base Model

IMC’s first offering, Model #CFC, is your standard cold food counter. The unit is constructed from Type 300 series stainless steel with a 16-gauge top, 14-gauge frame & an 18-gauge apron.

The unit is equipped with ice pans (2-6 available), which are made from insulated stainless steel to keep your foods chilled during serving hours. The unit also comes with an undershelf for extra stability & storage. Model #CFC comes standard with 5″ heavy duty casters for the best mobility. Check out the full breakdown below:

Model #CFCR – The Next Level Cold Food Counter

Model #CFCR has all the features of the standard Model #CFC, but with something a little extra. Model #CFCR includes a fully integrated refrigerated cold pan. The refrigeration unit is self contained with a compressor & copper coils, all secured to the underside. The unit includes on/off switch, pilot light & 5’ long cord & plug.

The unit can be fitted with 2-6 ice pans, depending on your application. The product is ideal for applications where you need to have your cold foods ready to serve all day long. The refrigerated unit keeps cold air pumping into the ice pans for a constant flow. Here’s a closer look below:

Model #CRAS – Innovative, Specialty Product

Model #CRAS is IMC’s original take on the typical cold food counter. The unit is equipped with a refrigerated cold pan with “air screen” technology. What exactly does that mean?

It means the cold pan is a self contained unit that distributes cooled air over the food as well as under the display bottom. A white bottom display is also included for crocks, pans, etc. This bottom gives the look of frost & ice with sanitary conditions. Food temperatures are held below 41°F. Model #CRBC – Fully Loaded Cold Food Counter
